Most of you know who I am already and I've decided to quit. staffing has lot its charm to me, used to be a great pass-time and now i'm trying to get a real job with pay so I think before I head out ill give some tips and advice. What everyone should know: 1. most people break rules past 12PM EST so if your gonna staff prepare to have to deal with that sometimes 2. Staffing is not easy, nobody really understands how difficult it is and only sees the bad, some of us really try to be great staff but don't make it far. 3. Listen to your higher-ups. just a suggestion. 4. If you are gonna staff make sure you attend the meetings, you miss out on a lot of stuff you wouldn't see/know then you make one mistake and now you have 5 new complaints you have to respond to. 5. People will not enjoy having someone as a moderator/admin if you are rude. nobody likes a suck-up either but that from experience. and lastly 6. you get payed in aether bucks, I think at a certain point there should be more of a incentive than just exposure. I think of it like this, exposure is worthless, people need a reason to do stuff. what I would like to see happen to aethernetwork in the future: 1. PayPal purchases again 2. More reasons to play 3. more jobs. 4. more staffing 5. banning of certain words (nword) 6. IP banning 7. Easier Application process 8. more updates 9. increased payroll 10. better communication methods 11. "premium restricted jobs" 12. where did miner go again? 13. CONVERSIONS (AB > Cash) 14. Death Noises 15. PAC3 16. Respawn Timers 17. NLR Based Force Fields 18. VEHICLES (Why have a command if you cant get them?) 19. More Mayor Options 20. Better Staff Info Website 21. Seasonal Events (not talking about the extra "gift" incentive during Christmas 22. Cheaper hats 23. more hats 24. PETS! 25. More Props 26. New Map Maybe 27. More Weapons 28. How Has The Baseball Bat Been Not Nerfed Yet? 29. Some More Perm Items 30. A player is refusing to co-operate with you in a staff sit, how do you handle the non-cooperative player?: It depends on how they are reacting, If they are spamming in chat during the sit, then mute, if its micspam then mute their vc, and if its just overall being hostile (killing, running away) I would either freeze them, strip their weapons, freeze using phys, or jail them, and if they simpily just disconnect it normally results in a ban (consisting of 1-4 hours on first offence) You see another staff member abusing their power (Give an example of a staff abusing and how you would handle it/who you would contact): If I were to see DEVGRU abusing his tmod rank, I would post a staff complaint on the aether network website with valid evidence, and I would also tell any higher ups or Jouaram (if it is serious) A player is excessively RDMing/RDAing and breaking NLR (What is RDM/RDA and NLR? How do you determine if a player is breaking any of these?): If someone is RDMing, RDM is what you use to describe someone on DarkRP who is killing other players for no reason, the first obvious sign is people posting using @ {text} in chat. Another sign would be the player excessively killing for no reason(in public or in killfeed), The last sign I would look for is the kill logs, if I see that nobody shot him, causing him to kill, then I would look for how many people he has killed so far( it is RDMx1 for each player he has killed).NLR, the lesser known is short for new life rule. The whole point of NLR is and as follows; If you die you cannot return to the area you have died or interact with the person who killed you, unless they hit, shoot, or fight you. This is fairly easy to figure out, I would look in logs, or killfeed to see if someone dies at the hands of someone, then they die to the person they just killed, finding where they were is a bit more difficult because I would need to find where they died, and approximate the range in which it's considered NLR (I normally go off of vc distance). With that people will also not really make complaints too much but if someone makes one then you normally would do all of the other steps, to confirm it. RDA, is just when someone randomly arrests someone else for no reason, this one, being the easiest to find would just be to look for people getting arrested in quick succession, I would also look for (like all of the others) for any complaints via @ {text} Extra Comments: I spent at least 3 hours on this so I hope it's good 🙂 Edited January 4 by Jouaram
