  1. The Bug You're Experiencing: On occasion I get this error while building. It's pretty frustrating because it forces be to relaunch the game to be able to save dupes again. As soon as I pull out the Advdupe tool it immediately sends the error and says in the bottom left "Too many entities to spawn in ghosts".

Can you reproduce the bug, if so, how?: Not easily, but I've had this happen to me three times now.

Examples of the bug (images, videos):

[advdupe2-master] addons/advdupe2-master/lua/advdupe2/cl_ghost.lua:248: attempt to index field 'GhostEntities' (a nil value)
        1. StartGhosting - addons/advdupe2-master/lua/advdupe2/cl_ghost.lua:248
            2. Function - addons/advdupe2-master/lua/advdupe2/cl_ghost.lua:263
                3. unknown - lua/includes/modules/usermessage.lua:80

Is this something on my end I can fix, or does this just happen after so long on gmod?

The hole point is to narrow down who is allowed to build In pd. when you get a ton of PD on and then one blocks of the jail section, another blocks off the mayors office etc etc you have a lot of chaos and groups of PD who don't have access to the whole PD.

I guess it would work pretty well. I think the mayor should be able to build too though like said before.

Would just have to accept that the sheriff will get demoted so the mayor can have the base he wants from someone.

  3. +1 Yeah perks need to be looked over imo. Alot of them if not all are just extremely minimal, not really making a difference at all.

As for the creation of lean, I hate how long it takes to spam buy 10 cups for the process. Reduce that timer too if possible. Lean is a ton of money but so click intensive. If possible balance around the change even.

  4. Banker:

Just to add more information for the banker. Once we finally got to the max $10 million in the vault, we were making roughly 8m/hr. It took us roughly 3 hours to get to the maximum, obviously this can be slightly skewed depending on how fast you collect printers into the vault. During that first few hours we're making even less. Part of that 8m/hr is the $20,000 income, which is 1.2m/hr of it. If during the time you are banking there is a mayor and they're taxing your income. You lose that 1.2m/hr, making the hourly rate even worse. Just trying to clarify how much this job makes hourly with numbers that I've collected over roughly a 5 hour period.

From what I've heard, prior to the nurf someone claimed to of made over 40m/hr. I agree that's far too much, however a solid middle ground between the two changes would probably be a solid number. IMO a rate of around 15-25m/hr would be perfect for the job. It takes a bit to slowly reach that max and once you reach the max it'll be a solid balance between the rest of the jobs. Considering it can take a few hours to reach that and you've got to keep them maintained and consistently bringing in more customers. Which also as a much higher risk since you've built the vault to $10m and all the money you would get for breaking the printers.

Just to compare to other jobs I've tested for their hourly rates.

Mining makes roughly 18-22m/hr depending on rng & efficiency. (+ Cash if printers are down.)

Lean makes around 16-25m/hr, giving a large gap between because there's a lot of clicking involved in this process. If you're at 100% focus the whole time you can probably hit that high range of 25m, though there's pretty much always something that'll slow you down.(+ Cash if printers are down.)

Bitcoin mining makes 12.5m/hr (+ Cash if printers are down.)

Banker sits at 8m/hr depending how much he gets taxed throughout the hour they're making money. ( - Can 't have printers.)

Printers alone make 5m/hr, so add that on top of other jobs.

All of these jobs are making higher rates an hour and I'm sure other jobs such as meth make more as well. However these tend to be the best to compare. These rates also assume that the prices are at their highest rates and you have premium. A bonus to all other money making jobs is the fact they get to place their printers down, Bankers don't get to have that extra money. I think the banker should definitely sit higher than these jobs, especially meth & bitcoin that are quite AFK. Like others said as well, it'll keep the bank quite active and keep it from being unused as it currently tends to be.

Again I'm not quite sure how the interest is determined for what seemed to trigger every 5 minutes for the banker income. The bank vault was at $10m the whole hour I had tested it. I also had roughly 60-80 printers throughout that same hour tested. However the number is determined, I was making around 8m/hr.

I haven't interacted with you too too much but you seem alright.  I've seen you a couple times on the server(did you used to be Young Toby?), and you have good activity on the forums.  I'm sure the previous staff experience will help out too.
    Good luck Toby.

Yeah, I had shortly used that name but had switched back. I'll add that in to the application, didn't think about it.

  6. -1

People tend to cluster around that area because that's where everyone is. Things would just shift and still be in one area. Like the others said, the reason to play is to be interacting with people. There will always be a cluster of people in one area of the map for that reason.

Forcing jobs in certain areas like hobos/dwarfs would probably deter people from staying.

100 is by far extreme when it comes to other bases. Increasing it further would just make something currently already terrible, become depressing. This is just a weakness for building outside like this or on roofs.

Mazing has to be shortened, this just makes them longer.

    General Questions

    • How can you contribute to Aether?: I've greatly come to enjoy the community that Aether has, I believe I've been quite active as well on the forums with suggestions & my opinions. I enjoy messing around with everyone I've met so far. I would like to help the members learn the rules to avoid breaking them and to punish the ones that are just here to ruin others fun. Every situation is different, I know to be understanding and to listen to each side. I enjoy helping others more than playing, so if accepted I'll be quick to help anyone that needs it.
    • Have you read the rules fully, understand and feel comfortable enforcing them as correctly as possible?: Of course, as well as I've always asked questions when certain rules don't fully explain certain situations. I'll always make suggestions as well when there are certain things that fall outside the boundary of the rules but should be considered FailRP or similar.
    • Are you willing to listen to any Staff member guide you as a Staff, even if you feel you don't need to?: Absolutely, I'm sure I'll have a few questions for how the warn system & logs work on this server.
    • Are you certain you will be able to staff for several hours a week?: Yes.

    DarkRP Rule Questions

    • Raids can last how long?: 10 minutes
    • What initiates a raid?: Breaching in any way initiates a raid, as well as the necessary advert required.
    • If the owner of the base is standing outside on their base entrances sidewalk as you're about to raid but haven't announced a raid yet, can you kill them?: No. Only after you advert the raid may you kill them, otherwise it's RDM.
    • List all default Laws of The Land: 1. Raiding is illegal. 2. Money printers, drugs and explosives are illegal. 3. Bitcoin racks are illegal. 4. Harming players is illegal, unless defending your base. 5. Life threats are illegal. 6. Having a gun license automatically makes all weapons on the user legal whilst holstered. 7. Kidnapping, harming, and theft is illegal. 8. Using dangerous weapons in public is illegal. 9. Laws must be enforced with AOS instead of KOS unless the police officers life is in danger or the player is wanted. 10. Non-default Laws must be things that players have to go out of their way to do. 11. Laws that are seen as baiting kills or arrests are not allowed.
    • How many bases can you own per party?: One
    • A player is refusing to co-operate with you in a staff sit, how do you handle the non-cooperative player?: After he doesn't listen to my request to stop, I'd either freeze him or mute/gag him depending on what they're doing.
    • Can you punish a player for intentionally ruining others time, even if they say it's out of fun?: Yes, depending on the situation. If it's a situation that they're not breaking rules however, I'd try to get the person to understand the other person isn't having fun & to leave them alone. If after this discussion and the person continues I'd consider it harassment and punish accordingly. Obviously there are different levels to this so I would take that into consideration.
    • Give an example of a Staff abusing their powers and how you would handle it: The use of noclipping while they're raiding, obviously they shouldn't be using it without staff reason. I'd get the evidence needed and report it to a veteran admin. I'd avoid confrontation just to avoid problems in this scenario, if it were something I may of taken out of context I would question them on it.
    • A player is excessively RDMing, how would you intervene/stop them from continuing and what punishment would you give?: If it's clearly mass rdm I'd freeze/teleport the person to stop anymore carnage. Take him to an admin sit and punish him for his actions, I'd ban him for 3 days for mass rdm if it's their first offense.
    • A Mayor enabled a lockdown without reason and is refusing to turn it off, how do you resolve this?: I would let them know they need a reason to initiate a lockdown, such as someone is raiding PD. Tell them to stop the lockdown and to not do it again without reason. If he continues to refuse after being told, I'd punish them as needed after looking over past warns.

    Extra Comments:

I've had past staff experience in another server some years ago. I was head-admin on a server called BallisticRP, it had shutdown after a couple years or so but a majority of my gmod hours were on that server alone. It has been about 5 years since then though, only started getting back into gmod when I started playing on here. I'm quite committed to a community once I've seen it's worth my time, this server definitely is. Once I've fully come to understand how the logs and such work, I believe I'd make a great addition to the staff team.

Again I told them to stop and now theirs proof of that seeing as how they stopped after i left so you just contradicted yourself. If i was trying to help them do it why would I say hey stop and leave and they followed.... you guys live on another planet!

Bro, what. Where is there proof they stopped... Revolt shows proof you continued to purchase crystals. From the two videos I've seen, you seem like you're trying to crash it. Even if it were the first scenario, Pooshi did you a favor for warning. To me, that looks just like flat out trying to lag the server. That should of just been an immediate ban if it was on any other server.

  10. -1 With all information, seems like you were definitely trying to crash the server even after warn. Revolt clears that up pretty well with logs. Even if you weren't making the potions, bare minimum you bought them to help the others to continue to try.

Even after you coming at me on the forums with every twisted lie you could in the past, you seemed honest here. What a shame...

Apologies Pooshi, should of waited for your response.

Yeah I think overall it would be too complicated to actually try and figure out in sits

Yeah, we figured it'd be the case. That's why we tried to say overall. There should just be a cooldown for counter raiding. Even then it doesn't fully stop what was happening though. (It's just raiding as is, is a joke. There needs to be a few more strict rules with bases.) Then dealing with 3 people following you around to hit you from behind every try for an hour just blows. Raidings already a problem imo, counters should only happen to PD and Bank. Again just another opinion but sounds fair to me bro.

  12. It's just annoying that it falls outside the lines of breaking the rules. They got annoyed cause we raided and destroyed their stuff, they followed us around knowing we were looking for places to raid to just kill us from behind. Should have some type of timer for countering.
