You willingly came back onto the server after you had been banned. Given that the ban you were issued stated that it would be a 3d ban (temp 4hr until a moderator could extend it) and you still chose to join the server today makes you seem bad. Not to mention that not after you joined (when you should've been banned) you proceeded to RDM me and then silent raid.

  2. +/- I've never really had a bad experience with you as staff/normal player. I would've +1 this but after seeing some comments mentioning you tried to use an ALT before even trying to appeal this ban makes rethink what's actually going though your head sometimes. That made me really want to -1 this but I'd like to see you given another chance, you're really into Aether.

Reason For Complaint: MassRDM while no staff are online, taunting his victims in OOC chat while continuing to RDM people. Doesn't care that this could result in a ban...

This is occurring at around 8:30 A.M. going on through 9:00 A.M. still (Time Zone: Eastern Standard)

Describe your suggestion: So basically, this job would add some RP spice to the sewers, which are very uneventful currently. With jobs like Meth Heads, Weed Growers, etc. being able to AFK (for the most part) and not worry about being raided as no one ever really looks in the sewers to raid. Having a Sewer Raptor job would keep them on their toes, the Sewer Raptor would be given a Raptor Claws, a lock-pick, and the ability to run 2x that of a normal player. The Sewer Raptor would be able to KOS anyone that enters the sewers, and also raid everyone that's basing in the sewers (with some sort of a raid cool down of course, maybe a 10 minute cool down instead of the default 20 minute cool down.)

How will this improve the quality of Aether?: Add a more fun aspect towards the silly side of Aether, it could attract more attention to the sewers instead of everything being centered around the PD/main streets of Downtown.

Before anyone asks, no this is not a 'joke post'. I have actual faith in this being a fun job for players to partake in rather than constantly being a druggie, or some form of PD.

This was a joint-idea by me and Big Milk

The Bug You're Experiencing: When the Mayor purchases from the F7 Catalog menu, it does not give purchased items to Secret Service which are listed under Government/PD

Can you reproduce the bug, if so, how?: Have a mayor, become secret service, and have the mayor purchase something/anything from the f7 menu.

Examples of the bug (images, videos): N/A

    My take on this,

it seems like it was a heated discussion in general that should have been handled by staff. The staff online are supposed to deescalate these situations and get it out of OOC.

For the players themselves, nothing from that evidence was said or done that was TOO bad, at most I think it would only warrant a verbal warning and just having them be talked to about it in-game.

this seems like something that could have been handled in game pretty easily and in your screenshots it showed multiple staff members online taking sits so I’m a bit confused, unless I’m missing something.

im also not understanding where you’re claiming the targeted harassment is. I can understand from what you showed a little bit of toxicity, but it doesn’t seem to me to be harassment towards anyone

(OOC) Ravioli: Lammy, are you autistic?

These are just a few cherry-picked examples of the targeted messages towards me

We went back and forth on this rule on ret because a small group of people complained about people being able to say the n word with the A, but majority of the player base weren’t offended at all and it became kind of problematic. Restricting people’s speech is hard to enforce, and very infuriating for players. For some people, that’s just how they talk, they don’t even realize they’re saying it. So to go and punish them every time they do it when they say it out of habit and no one normally gets offended anyways, seems a bit unnecessary.

HOWEVER provocative words or terms are important in terms of context. If people are saying them in normal speech not really directed towards anyone, that is vastly different than someone using it to be provocative or as harassment towards certain people.

it’s kind of hard to clarify a rule for these considering context is important with what you brought up. Maybe a rule saying that a certain group of words may be punishable as hate speech if used in a provocative or targeted way.

Absolutely, context is key to everything- especially in circumstances or instances such as that were described. There should absolutely, without a doubt in my mind be a restriction of using racial slurs of any kind against another player regardless of the situation and circumstances surrounding something such as that. However- if the rules prohibit the direct use of racial terms, slurs, and implications, what makes using the Soft-A any different than using the Hard-R? If we allow one racial slur to be allowed, what makes the other ones any worse to use? There needs to be a set definition as to what crosses the line, and I personally believe that any racial slur directed- or not at someone, should be prohibited. With the current bias towards certain softer slurs on the server, people have taken advantage of this (incidents like these prompted me to suggest this) loop-hole to directly attack other players, or just spam it because they know there'll be no repercussions from doing so.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS TEMPLATE WILL RESULT IN THIS APPEAL BEING DENIED

Describe your suggestion: Tonight (December 30th, 2020) there was an unusual spike in the amount of racist messages being sent towards one another on the server, whether that was through the use of voice chat, local chat, or OOC. While it is known that using blatant racist words such as the Hard R is most certainly against the rules, and an immediate 1 week ban, lesser defined areas such as the use of the Soft A and other derogatory words against other races is widely unknown, even by most staff members. I think that the rules should be edited/re-defined to include the prohibition of any racial slurs, no matter the severity or disrespect they might weigh.

Link To Relevant Addons (If Any):

How will this improve the quality of Aether?: It will most certainly protect the youth that plays on this server, along with protecting commonly discriminated individuals of certain races.

Feel free to politely discuss this suggestion in the response section below.

Reason For Complaint: RDM x2, Homophobic Slurs via voice chat in-game. I had previously raided PD while Williams was Mayor, I ended up killing him in the raid. He got frustrated in OOC which can be seen in the console logs. I go hang out with a hobo afterwards and then he becomes a Police Medic and then RDMs me and the hobo for no reason then says "Sorry lam, meant to kill hobo." as if he had a reason to even kill the hobo (which had done nothing to anyone.)

You've honestly are pretty mature, I've talked to you you seem fit for staff

Thank you both for the positive feedback! I'm always trying my hardest to be a prime role model to other players on the server when-ever possible to do so. It excites me to see that other players and especially staff members expressing their faith in me as a potential staff member.

Describe your suggestion: Add a chef-related job (doesn't have to use the 'relevant addons' section)

Link To Relevant Addons (If Any)https://www.gmodstore.com/market/view/4681

How will this improve the quality of Aether?: Currently there is a lacking of "legal-profitable jobs" with the current use of Meth Heads, Cigarette Smugglers, etc. Adding jobs such as a chef, pizza maker, or even a bartender job could greatly enhance RP and allow direct interaction with jobs other than just a gun dealer or government jobs. If someone on here could modify the code in the linked 'relevant addons' to allow you to sell the food that you cook or market it to other players, this could allow not only a player to have fun rp cooking, but also make a profit out of it.

Then in my opinion I think you would be worthy

I heavily rely on RP relations when I play as Government (specifically mayor) I try to have a mix between a serious attitude and a relaxed attitude when playing so that I'm not just a generic mayor that makes crazy City Laws, but actually tries to interact with the public and enhance RP.

Any-who, thank you for the critique, any sort of community response is well-welcome by me as it brings attention to my cause and intentions of bettering the server.

You are toxic to other players

You are not really staff material

You somehow get/start drama alot in the server

I'm really curious as to how I'm "toxic to other players" and "get/start drama in the server" if you could please elaborate as to how those things shall apply to me, that would be greatly appreciated.

    - Never seen you before in-game.

Being that I've never seen you before in-game I can only make my descension from your app alone. I think that if you get denied you should get to know some of the people in the community and then re-apply because I truly do like your app and what it says but I've unfortunately never met you.

Well- I do hope I can officially say that we've met in game now, you seem to be a pretty nice person too!
I'm still looking for more critique or praise from the community in regards to my application! So don't feel shy to post some feedback!

Additionally for those who were concerned about my in-game, forum, and Discord activity- I have significantly increased my play time on the server to roughly 55 hours! Thank you all so much for having faith in me as a potential future staff member. @Xrel @ItzHoover @Bballer192 ツ @Dildozer
