  1. I think this is a relatively decent idea and could increase raid/pvp activity throughout the day, a lot of balance would need to be in place for it to feel worth it but not overpowered, I'll add it to the list for down the line.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

60 seconds even for 26k aint worth the time

2 labs at 60 seconds per 26k, without boost its about 3.12m an hour and with boost 6.24m an hour - compared to the others jobs it is not bad at all, slap some printers down and you'll be doing pretty good.

Making 15-25m an hour by 'renting' labs (AKA encouraging people sitting on the job not using it being fully AFK) was and is unhealthy for the server as a whole and completely unintentional.

  3. I've had discussion with astro and other Staff, there was a bit of back and forth between you which you own up to and have validated the first few kills however it has become evident that there were at least 2 kills that were 100% unprovoked RDM, as the others are grey area and can't be proven as RDM or not RDM I will only be enforcing the RDMx2.

Astro has received a 2 day ban due to the 2xRDM and PW. Thanks for the complaint.

So in any situation moving forward, there's no damage requirement to constitute self-defense? In my humble opinion that opens up a lot of options for kill baiting by saying "he shot in my general direction so i killed him" even if the shooter wasn't trying to kill said player.

I did state that they require damage before retaliating unless they're confident they can provide a clip that shows them being shot at. Staff will use their own judgement to decide if they were being shot at or not and if it warranted retaliation.

  5. @RevoltPlaysis correct in saying he can kill you if you either admit to shooting at him or if the victim had a clip of you shooting at them, the only reason damage is required is for scenarios where neither is admitting to it and there is no clip as there would be no logs of it.

Shooting at a player is threatening their life/endangering them which can be retaliated on however if the person you're shooting doesn't have a clip of you shooting at them they'll get punished with RDM, so if they can't clip they need to wait until they get damaged.

I do think Revolt returned you super fast and didn't explain WHY he was allowed to kill you which is probably why you were left confused and made this complaint.

I will let Revolt respond just in-case he wants to add anything but that's about all there is to it from my view.

Money doesn't really matter. Aether is to the point or Ret where myself and others would not accept any form of cash payment because those with rare perms don't want money. They want other perms. And the market is so inflated that the cash is worthless for the most part.

What you need is better item circulation. People have no reason to circulate the perms and the rare perms become extinct.

With a wipe you can have different items to go for each wipe with a different way of obtaining them. And lasting multiple months is more than enough to feel accomplished with them. It's not only something Ret/Aether needed/needs but it would be unique and set your server apart from others.

With me personally, I came back last week and was excited to get back into it but became very quickly bored with the feeling of "What am I grinding for? There's nothing I event want and anything I could get everyone already has..."

As someone who grinded all the time on ret for perms and custom printers, there's just nothing to work towards. No rare items that feel accomplishing to get. Circulate new perms in new ways and make it fun/exciting. A wipe would be good for the server but I know you wouldn't do it.

Your points are fine but I really don't want to debate or discuss with you as it's always one-sided, I've stated my opinion on a wipe.

Money shouldn't be the only thing wiped. Perms and money should both be wiped like every 3 months. Put new perms in circulation with new ways to make money each wipe. Different metas, different items, different incentives, different econs. Maybe one wipe $100,000 is a good amount of money and maybe in a different wipe $1,000,000 is what is considered a good amount of money.

This is something many people wanted for ret and likely want for Aether as well. It's boring when the same half dozen people get all perms then stop playing the server. Start wiping every 2-3 months everyones perms and money and let them have a different experience to keep it interesting and balanced

This would keep things fresh for the small amount of players that would still be playing after everyone that worked towards their items and money leaves the server to find one that doesn't wipe.

  8. The economy is pretty okay in my opinion, there are no jobs that can suddenly make billions and gambling is set at a level where it also can't suddenly create billions.

Money being hoarded is something that is going to happen no matter what fixes or changes are put in place, some players just enjoy having raw cash especially when it flexes on the leaderboards.

I think the current 'influx' of cash right now is left-over from the week where I was away and left boosts active 24/7 (billions were put into the eco over that week which was expected although still surprising how many people farmed) which is starting to dwindle down and generally most players are starting to get the need for cash again.

Of course this opinion isn't shared by everybody and you may feel like cash is too easy to come by because you farm a lot or got lucky on coinflip, I can understand these types of players concerns but it definitely doesn't reflect across the whole server and there is still a good demand for cash if you find the right player.

There have been issues with some over-tuned income methods but those are being targeted, however I do not think they're in a state where they're ruining the economy (other than banker which was nerfed last patch) with these types of income methods being evened out (sharing meth labs being disabled for example) money will have more need than previously imo.

After new items get released the amount of cash players are hoarding will lower even more, and then after new-new items cash will lower even more again.

For reference there are many items that players try and sell in the hundreds of millions but still lack buyers even with those items being extremely rare, money is definitely still valued and resourceful and only hoarded by a good few % of the player-base, usually ones that are very active and grind.

(Also to add in, I have no worries about stopping players hoarding billions anymore as the integer cap is no longer affected by in-game wallets based on testing)

  9. ACCEPTED

You are one of the rare gems in Garry's Mod with you being calm, laid back and mature. I think it's a no brainer to give you a shot at Staffing an hope you enjoy it enough to stick around, I have not heard of any negative experiences you've caused or been a part of which is rare with how much activity you have.

    Good luck!

  10. ACCEPTED

You have shown to be a very active member of the Community and many if not all regular players know your name by now and have interacted with you in some form; I believe you have decent characteristics for Staffing but may need to improve on some of the personality based issues before completing your T-Mod phase (Like getting cheap deals for candy on new players, the principal of it makes you look bad) - luckily these types of things are fixable and hopefully now that it's been mentioned and you have been given a shot improvements can be made.

    Good luck!

  11. What GoldFishie is saying is correct, however Emily has already resolved it and removed the warn - this is very lenient and forgiving of Emily so don't take it for granted and make sure you understand what Fishie said above to avoid this happening again.
