It isn't like Jordan has to be unbanned, if I cannot be convinced then I won't unban them. There is also no rush on making a decision.

Hopefully @jordan can reply to my previous question so I can get a better idea of their cheating habits.

Hey! Sorry I couldn't get back to your messages any sooner, I was out on vacation since the 15th and just got back to my house today. As to your question before about weather or not I have been banned on other servers, I mean I sure I have been, who hasn't, there's so many servers out there that have come and gone that I have played on, and with a few thousand hours spread across a few accounts, I'd say yeah I have been banned before. If you are asking weather or not I have been banned for cheating before I would say more than likely yes, but, it's not like it was a frequent thing, this question is a bit hard to answer when you have to realize the cheat I was using is undetected from a vast majority of normal or basic detections, and the probability of me being banned by any sort of anti-cheat while using the cheat was slim to none. So I would typically end up being banned for something like minging, or breaking some sort of other rule on a server that I was looking to have some fun on, and not really dedicate a bunch of time into, rather than actually cheating as 99% of the time, no one would ever find out. If you want to know my cheating habits as you state in this message, I wouldn't lie to you and say that whenever I played gmod I didn't use the software I have, I did unless something wasn't working, or I was too lazy to inject.

Though, as I have been trying to portray to the fact that I have not been cheating, and will be staying away from it only through words (which isn't the most easiest thing), I was possibly wondering if there were anything else extra I could do, or be doing in order to possibly help out in my appeal. I can only say this, or that, and play with words in ways to hopefully make myself sound better, but I can't really prove anything as rock solid, or definite as you are most likely looking for here. So please let me know if there is something we can do, or have a discussion about, or something I can do in order to prove that my words here are genuine, and nothing but that.

I want to touch on the comment you made before about the discord monitoring. Yes, no one is going to be in the discord 24/7 to go ahead and monitor me, there's no reason for that in the first place, I believe it makes it almost better on your guys ends, and worse on mine because I simply wouldn't be able to know when someone is coming into the call, and wouldn't be able to be looking through a menu, or configuring any sort of cheat, or doing anything I shouldn't because anyone, at anytime, staff or not staff, could press the call and join and catch me red handed, I think you might be able to even view a preview of someone's screen before joining and you could probably just tell off of that honestly. Said person also wouldn't need to stay in the call as once you have seen nothing is there, there's really no point in staying unless you really just want to watch like a hawk and see if you can spot anything fishy, which someone might do and they are completely free to do so.

If you yourself could come up with any way into proving that I won't cheat that will make you comfortable while I play on your server, in order to gain your trust, I am more than willing to do it in order to play again on Aether.

This is a tough one. It is hard to trust that someone that cheats will actually stop, and the way you describe how much you enjoyed cheating makes it harder. It probably would've been better not to include that you loved cheating, but being willing to admit it and be honest about it is good and could mean you're genuinely trying to change.

I wanted full transparency, even if it affects me poorly, I want everyone to know that I am an open book with this, and am not hiding or holding anything back. I can only use words in my appeal so I wanted to show my sincerity, and that I have indeed changed for the better, and will stay that way.

+1 you came clean and you waited an appropriate amount of time I don't personally know you but from the appeal you seem genuinely apologetic for your actions I think you should be welcomed back with some skepticism, you'll be under the microscope for awhile but if you are clean you'll have nothing to fear

I am completely okay with being under the microscope, I want it to be that way anyways so the players of Aether have nothing to worry about if I am able to play on the server again ☺️.

Genuinely thank you for saying this. People change all the time, it's natural, and human, and I hope to be able to prove that I have changed as well by being able to play on Aether once again cheat-less.

What is the point of using the cheats for "fun" when you actually don't gain anyway to have more fun by being able to see people through walls.

Even if you say you only used wall stuff it can still be a huge boost to help you. And I actually don't believe / trust that you only used wall / bhop stuff.

Also I think we both know that most cheats out there have anti screen grab and have settings that let them not be picked up on video. Making all the ways you wish to prove yourself useless.

I don't believe that you ever had any ill-intent towards players or the server. But even with that I genuinely can't trust somebody that has / had such low self control making it hard to think you'll think very hard about going back to it when you feel the urge.

Very good points you bring up, but I believe I did a good job at addressing all of these in my appeal. I stated that while I was having some sort of "fun" I was actually ruining others peoples experience and had stopped using them because of it.

I understand why you may not believe me, and you are entitled to that opinion and I respect it.

Yes, you are correct, cheats do have lots of anti screen grab, but the things I am stating I will do will not work with it. For example, I would be sharing my desktop on discord, showing you exactly what I am seeing at all times, furthermore, shadowplay also does the same exact thing, and I am willing to show you that I physically wouldn't be able to hide it with the things I am willing to do.

Respectable, and understandable, but all I can ask is you take my word that I won't use them again, and trust in the things I am willing to do in order to prove that.

-1 once cheater always a cheater I know this from experience

I too said this in my appeal, and completely understand it, and I too personally also believe this to be true, but I am making it virtually impossible for me to cheat on the server again with the things I am willing to do, voiding this.

    15 minutes ago, Novva said:

Your making this sound like your addicted to drugs (the cheats) in the appeal like its impossible to stop using them this just feels like a sob story

Not relevant to the appeal at all, and doesn't provide any insight into denying, or accepting the appeal, so not sure why this was needed to be said. But, yes, cheating is really fun, but as I stated in my appeal, I have stopped doing it, and I will stand by that, and will prove it by doing the things I have stated. I simply want to play on the server again. I also apologize if I did something to personally affect you. I aremember us being cool (at least in my eyes) and I hope me cheating, and getting banned didn't ruin that, I remember you being chill, but by this it seems the opposite.

You still cheated once which is something we take seriously, how can we know you wont do it again, you did it once The paragraph was a meer distraction of talking about the server instead of an appeal
Cheats off all types might seem fun to you but devistate players who have been playing for along time while they work hard and grind you would simply sit back. cheats and hacks are something i want to remove from this community and when a trialmod comes in and starts cheating that will collapse the rolemodel picture you create for youreself yes you may be forgiven but i personally dont agree with re-access to aether due to the cheating poportion as i previously state its something we take serioulsy.

You will be able to know I won't do it again by all the things I stated in my appeal that I would be willing to do at any given point, making it impossible for me to cheat again on the server.

+/- I’m neutral about this because yeah on one hand, you cheated even after having a staff role, which you represented the server at that point, that should be unforgivable in any situation and you could have used them to still defend or protect your base. But on the other hand, you weren’t malicious (as far as I know) with them, I never saw you raid or anything, you did stay in your base a lot of the time. You were kind to others for as long as you were a part of the community, you had a clean warn record, and I know you were trying to help the server. Last I spoke with you, you did say you cleaned up your act with cheating in games. I personally don’t think it’s necessary for you to have to do all that work streaming your screen in the discord if you were to play in the server to be honest. I hope you get accepted and really have cleaned up your habits of cheating in gmod.

I believe this justifies what I am trying to say here. I am in the wrong, I cheated, and tarnished the staff team by cheating while in it. Though, never did I once try to do harm to the community, I tried my best to be a good, and active player, enforcing the rules, and sharing them to people who didn't know them, which you might be able to see through my chat logs. I never broke server rules, and yes, all I did was sit in my base and make money off weed whenever I got on, and took sits, I never really raided ever, maybe once in a blue moon, as to avoid using it "maliciously" against others. I too don't think it should be necessary for me to do all of these things, but I want to make it seem that way because people aren't going to trust me, its inevitable, so I want to do everything in my power to make them trust me, and I am trying to do that by "going the extra mile" with things to make it impossible for me to cheat.

I'm willing to do any sort of typing test on any website live to prove I am an okay typer, and I am even willing to do trivia live (as this would in my opinion better show it due to other factors like reaction time, and other trivia related "tactics") if able to join the server again to prove I wasn't cheating in trivia.

    Who Banned You: Jouaram (Console)

    Proof Of Ban3f8367a358c6d9ec9d6be87c85d0eb6d.png

    Why Should You Be Unbanned

Before beginning, all I ask is that you please read the entirety of what I have to say before making a response. Thank you.

If any of you guys don’t know, I was a Trial-Moderator on Aether Networks about a month ago, and a dedicated, motivated, and serious player towards the community. A few days into my Trial-Moderator phase, I had responded to a Staff Application on the forums with a screenshot of someone's warn logs, with visual hacks on in the background. I didn’t notice at the time until Jouaram contacted me later in discord asking me what it was, and I came clean, and was shortly terminated from my Staff position, and banned from the community permanently with the option to appeal in a month, which I am doing so now.

I would like to first start off by simply apologizing. Apologizing to anyone, anyone at all who felt that I had wrong dooed them, maliciously affected them, betrayed, disappointed, or any sort of other feeling, I am sorry. I am also specifically sorry to the Staff Team of Aether Networks. I apologize for any sort of bad outcomes that may have happened due to my actions, potentially making the Administrative Team look poor, or any sort of other reason, I am again sorry, it was never my intention. I am also specifically sorry to Jouaram as I have let you down as my Mentor during my time of being on the team, as well as to my friends that I made along the way, I miss you all, and I'm sorry. To everyone, I hope you can accept my apologies, I understand why you may not, and I completely respect your decision to do so.

Now onto the actual appeal portion of this. For the past month or so I have genuinely avoided using cheats on gmod, and in games in general. Whether you believe me or not, I have taken a step back from the cheating scene and have been playing all my games completely legit, and to be honest, it feels really nice. I don’t have that constant feeling of needing to hide something, or avoid certain situations in fear of being caught hacking, I can simply play video games for what they were intended for, enjoyment. Hacking was something that I did for fun, and I now realize that by gaining some sort of “fun” out of cheating, I was ruining others' experiences at the same time, and I am sorry for that. I have no excuse or defense for my actions as they are completely wrong, and asking for your acceptance is almost rude of me after doing such a thing, but I hope you can understand and see that I have changed for the better, and simply want to return as a player on Aether. This community, and specifically the server, is a gem within DarkRP in my opinion at the moment. I looked for days in order to find this server as they’re not many good ones out there, and even after my ban I went to go and find something to quench my addiction to the gamemode only to find nothing that was good, and nothing that was the same. Aether was a breath of fresh air on the gamemode, with things like the attachments, addons, jobs, you name it, it’s all really well set up, configured, and DarkRP done properly. I understand that stigma, and saying behind cheaters in video games. “Once a cheater, always a cheater” and I too believe this, and don’t blame you either for it as cheating is almost like an addiction and I experienced that myself after cheating for so long in video games, specifically gmod for about a year. I do it for the fun of it, using different programs and getting that breath of fresh air out of a game is something that drives me towards it. As weird as this may sound, and as much as you may not believe me, I try to not use it maliciously, specifically on Aether, I used it more so for fun. The only hack that I was using was Visuals, and I believe auto hop. I didn’t raid all that much either, and simply sat in my base and made money and this is shown by my status on the leaderboards. Now I don’t mean for this to sound like any sort of defense, or excuse as I simply have none for my actions, but I hope it gives you a little insight to my reasoning for appeal. I never broke server rules which are shown by no warnings up until my ban, and wanted to help more than anything which is also shown by my willingness, and want to join the Staff Team. I still want to help around the community, and be a part of it once again, being allowed to play again would be very generous. I understand that cheating appeals 99% of the time don’t get overturned as it is a direct violation of the servers rules, and a big one at that. In order to hopefully allow yourselves to give me another chance, and in order not to jeopardize, embarrass, or taint anyone's say, viewpoint, or opinion, I am willing to do many things in order to prove that I will not cheat again on the community. One of the main things is joining the discord server every single time I play, and actively sharing my screen for every second that I am playing, no matter what I am doing. I would make my own discord channel using the plugin/bot that the discord server has, and sit it in every single time I join the server, and again share my screen for anyone, at any time to join and look at what I am doing, and to see whether or not I am cheating. This would make it impossible for me to cheat as someone could join any second and report me and it’s over with. Another thing I am willing to do on top of that, is also record every single time I play on the server, and upload said recording whenever asked, or easier done, simply screenshare the recording whenever asked. I use shadowplay so it's a marked date, and you could ask for any date that you’d like and I would be able to provide that for you. I am also willing to instant replay at any asked moment, which if you don’t know, makes a smaller recording, a segment if you will, of a set time (in shadowplay once again), and provide you with that replay. If at any moment anything I ever do seems fishy, or weird, you would be able to ask me to send you the recording, instant replay, or simply join the discord channel to see what I am up to, and prove to you that I am simply playing legit. I am willing to succumb to any sort of screen grab, or if you’d even like, screen sharing sessions (I don’t know the proper name) like they do for minecraft cheats, and show you anything you would like to see on my computer at any given time. To take it to the next step, I am simply willing to do anything, anything at all (as long as it’s not weird or creepy) in order to prove to you that I am not cheating, and won’t be cheating again on Aether, or in general. I hope these things that I am willing to do shows you just how much, and how badly I want to return to the community, and play on it once again, as simply a player, a legit one at that, amongst the rest. These things I am willing to do would make it virtually impossible for me to cheat, and I hope you can see and understand that too. If anyone had thought I cheated in trivia I am willing to do whatever typing test live you want to prove to you that I am simply a decent typer.

Thank you for taking the time to read my appeal, and I hope I can be given a second chance.

  7. There was an instance where you had typed not even .5 seconds after a trivia question popped up, I would even say it was 0 seconds and it wasn't one of those questions where you can type it in less than a second, it was an actual word of decent length.  How fast you typed would be almost described as "inhumane". Me and someone else question marked you in chat, and then the next trivia question it seems you upped the timer just a bit to make it seem "legit" but it was still really, really quick. If there is a way to see when the trivia question was sent, and then when your message was sent I can almost guarantee it will be almost identical in time stamps because it was just that quick. Maybe you're some god tier typist, maybe the fastest in the world, but me, and goose were not the only ones weirded out by that as I stated someone else question marked you in chat. Also, why are you going through the effort of also typing the word "say" and pressing your console key and then typing the word... it makes absolutely no sense to do it that way as simply pressing your chat bind and typing it in chat directly would be faster in almost every way possible, that's just weird in itself.

    DarkRP General Questions

    • How can you contribute to Aether?: I feel like the best thing I am offering the staff team is that I can be incredibly active for 90% of any given week, especially late at night. I find myself logging on and wanting to help and be more than just a player in the community. I try my best to help out members who need it. I help as much as I can and I feel that if I am part of the staff team that I can offer a lot more to the server. Not only do I watch chat but I also screenshot and either make a report about that player if they have done something wrong or I ask a staff member on discord to warn, kick or ban them depending on what the situation is. If I am part of the staff team this can save a lot of hustle in screenshotting and sending it to current staff members. Additionally, I can say that I can devote most of my play time to Administering the server, and making sure the server is running well. I am mature and can handle situations with no bias, and have read over the rules well enough to understand them, and teach them to someone else. I also love to help in any opportunity possible, whether it be a simple question asked in chat, or something involving assistance from a Staff member, I am more than glad to be there for the players, and ensure that their playing experience is the best it can possibly be while on Aether. I also will be active not only on the server, but the discord, and the forums as well. Giving my input towards Staff Applications, suggestions, and simply chatting and being active on all platforms of Aether. Furthermore, I am willing to go the extra mile in any situation, for example; adding someone on discord to send them the discord link if they are struggling to copy text in chat, or simply teaching someone gmod mechanics like welding, teaching them how to use the meth, cigarette, printers or bitcoin addons, or even a tour of the map if they so desire. A staff member is supposed to be there for the players, which is what I plan to meet.  To be honest I just want to help the server as much as I can, and I feel like being part of the staff team will be the best way to do so. Lastly, I can bring a hard working, no-life player who wants to give back to the community, and be a role model for others. Someone who is incredibly patient, and nice to others, and simply wants to enforce a positive playing experience for the players of Aether. I can be fair, and an understanding Staff Member, someone who has the best intentions for the players, and making sure they learn from an experience, and simply not handed a punishment, and if they are given one, making sure they leave the sit understanding why they have earned said punishment. I also want to be able to handle those rule breakers who are ruining others' experience's on the server in the most fair, and respectful way possible, trying my best to ensure that both sides of the party, whether it be the punished, or the reporter, both leaved satisfied, or at least learned something.

    • Have you read the rules fully, understand and feel comfortable enforcing them as correctly as possible? (Yes/No): Yes

    • Are you willing to listen to any Staff member guide you as a Staff, even if you feel you don't need to? (Yes/No):  Yes

    • Are you certain you will be able to staff for several hours a week? (Yes/No): Yes

    DarkRP Rule Questions

    • Raids can last how long?: Raids can last at most 10 minutes from the initiation of said raid, but no more, and once you have reaped the rewards you must begin exiting the base resulting in most raids lasting less.

    • What initiates a raid?: Your first attempt at advertising raid, killing, emp grenade, lock picking, keypad cracking, etc

    • If the owner of the base is standing outside as you're about to raid, can you kill them?: If they are close enough distance to their base where if you were to attempt raiding, and they would be able to effect it, as in being able to kill you, or stop you, then yes, you may kill them.

    • List 3 default Laws of The Land: Raiding is illegal, money printers, drugs, and explosives are illegal, and murder is illegal.

    • How many bases can you own per party?: Only one per party.

    • A player is refusing to co-operate with you in a staff sit, how do you handle the non-cooperative player?: The player has to realize that this is a video game, and the Staff Members of the server sign up to assist, and the player is halting that process. If this is the case, I will verbally warn them to begin co-operating or face a harsher punishment than was originally attended as they are not only wasting my time, but the other players time, and anyone else who needs assistance from a Staff Member.

    • You see another staff member abusing their power (Give an example of a staff abusing and how you would handle it/who you would contact): An example of a Staff Member abusing their powers is being godded while in an RP-situation, and the “god” directly altering what the RP situation should, would, or could of been. Another example is using “noclip” to peer inside of someone's base and gain information that they would have not originally had from roleplay, or using noclip during the middle of a raid to gain some sort of advantage. I would do everything in my power to gain evidence of said Staff Member abusing their powers, whether it being a recording,  screenshots, calling another Staff Member over to watch with me, and report it to Jouaram, but if not available, the next highest ranking staff member, or post it on the forums.

    • A player is excessively RDMing/RDAing and breaking NLR (What is RDM/RDA and NLR? How do you determine if a player is breaking any of these?): RDM = Random Death Match | RDA = Random Arrest | NLR = New Life Rule. To determine if someone fell subject to “RDM”, “RDA”, or “NLR” I would need to check logs. If there is a bunch of killings in a short amount of time and a bunch of reports you most likely have a case of MRDM, if there are a bunch of arrests in a short amount of time and a bunch of reports you most likely have a case of MRDA, and if someone died and came back in less than 3 minutes and did an action (damage, kill, die again, etc) then they are most likely breaking NLR. If I can’t determine whether or not the reported was at fault strictly from logs, I will have to spectate them to see it first hand, or get them to admit themselves.

Extra Comments: I would like to thank you for reading my application, and giving me a chance to join the Administrative Team on Aether Networks. I do understand my playtime is not all that much, though, I can assure you that it will rise rapidly.

  9. The Bug You're Experiencing: Title. Newly created presets made AFTER attachment update do not work, though, old presets that were made BEFORE the attachment update still do.

Can you reproduce the bug, if so, how?: Yes, grab a gun, grab some attachments, put some attachments on it, make a preset, kill yourself so attachments aren't attached to your person anymore, grab the same gun, re-grab attachments, and try to put the preset you just made back onto the weapon, it won't work.

For people who actually read this post:

I see more and more bases every day using this same tactic and raiding has become close to impossible even using all the tools to disposal. (Nade laucnher, RPG, EMPs, Thermite, gas, etc.)

I feel like it would just be best if we got rid of this. It causes bases to be un-raidable if you have 2 people on at the same time.

Essentially, yes, bases can be un-radiable from all of the best equipment by building correctly and using no collided props. The rule where you can't shoot though one way props is essentially useless when you can make it where there is no possible way they can guess where you are at when raiding, where as on the opposite side, you know exactly where they are at all times, and all you have to do is walk through a prop to kill them. Approving this no-collide suggestion would indeed make raiding much more fair, and if were being honest, possible in the first place.
