  1. Oops I changed it for ya, must've overlooked it by accident.
  2. AetherNetwork Staff Application In-Game Name (List ALL variations, if accepted your Forum/Discord name will be changed to your most used one): YesMan Age: 21 Steam ID: "STEAM_0:0:77251136" Discord Tag: "yesman" Total Playtime (24 hours/1 day REQUIRED): 1d 23h 9m Timezone: GMT+2 (Norway) Steam Profile: https://steamcommunity.com/id/EJ0RGZN/ Times you're most active (If you have a unpredictable schedule let us know): I work a three week rotation Evening shift/Day shift/Week off. In my evening shifts I'm usually on around 1 or 2am if there is not overtime and assuming I play instead of sleeping when I get home. Day shifts I almost never work overtime so I usually get on around 4-6pm if I am not busy with irl stuff. On my week off I am usually on at unpredicable times due to wacky sleep schedule, but on average I get on about 5-7pm. On average I think I've been playing like minimum 5h every day, I first joined on the 28th of April I think. General Questions How can you contribute to Aether?: From my own perspective I try to be a rational and cooperative person, so I feel like I can contribute quite well to keeping the server peaceful and rule obedient. I am often online during staff downtime so I feel like I can be there when others are asleep or not online. Have you read the rules fully, understand and feel comfortable enforcing them as correctly as possible?: I have read the rules a fair bit of times due to having a couple of misunderstandings about them, especially when building my bases for the first time. After that I've been trying to read them all to understand if me as a player is in the right or wrong. I feel as though I am competent enough to enforce them yes. Rules are a finnicky thing as people often try to work around them to get what they want. I still think I always have room for improvement when it comes down to understanding and dealing with that at least since it can be a difficult thing if the rules don't specify in enough detail. Are you willing to listen to any Staff member guide you as a Staff, even if you feel you don't need to?: Of course, I never write anyone off even if I think I'm right since "Your perception is your reality" and my perception is never always right. Having 3rd party to anything is a good idea to learn new things or improve on the old. I have also never been staff on a gmod server before so I would be here to learn. I'm always down to improve in real life or in game. Are you certain you will be able to staff for 5 hours a week and finish 15 sits each week?: Yes I think I will manage fairly easily based on my recent activity. DarkRP Rule Questions Raids can last how long?: Raids can last for 10 minutes or until the raider(s) demise. If a player in your party dies whilst raiding, how long do they have to wait to come back and raid the same base again?: The 30 minute raid cooldown is shared between party members. What initiates a raid?: Adverting raid, which must be done within mic distance from the front entrance. If no raiding tool is being used can the player steal the item from a base without an advert?: Yes, as long as raidables are accessible without tools, then you can raidstick them and not get a cooldown. Give an example of a valid raid advert (type it as you'd type it in-game): "/advert raid" or "/advert PD-Raid" No extra clutter or text other than what the message portrays. If the owner of the base is standing outside on their base entrances sidewalk as you're about to raid but haven't announced a raid yet, can you kill them?: As long as they are within microphone distance of the front entrance you can kill them AFTER adverting the raid. Raid adverts also have to be initiated within the same distance from the entrance as stated earlier. If you get arrested mid-raid can you return after your arrest?: No because you left the mic distance from the base. I've never really thought about this since I usually thought it was obvious that your raid is over, but apparently after rereading the rules it is based only on this one sentence "Leaving the microphone distance of a base forfeits the raid". I assumed there might be a more specific rule, but there isn't from what I can see. I was confused since I haven't seen a rule specifically mentioning getting arrested in a raid context. If you get RDM'd are you allowed to kill the RDMer back without repercussions?: No, you can only kill based on in game justifications and killing someone because they killed you in any setting is either breaking NLR or just plain RDM unless you have some RP justifications. Rule of thumb for me as a normal player is to either just respect NLR or report them. A player punches somebody unprovoked and runs away, the player who got punched calls a sit - what punishment would you give the instigator?: First time offense I'd probably give them a verbal warning, but if they keep getting reported for it I would give a punishment in line of RDM. List all default Laws of The Land: Raiding/Stealing is illegal. Anything detected by a police scanner are illegal items. Harming players unless you are inside your base is illegal. Laws can be enforced with KOS if the player is wanted. How many bases can you own per party?: All players or parties can own 1 raidable base and 1 RP only base. A player is refusing to co-operate with you in a staff sit, how do you handle the non-cooperative player?: Warn them about getting muted or just muting them to explain the situation and the rules in question. Also I will tell them that if they disagree with the outcome, then they are free to express their complaint on the forums. Can you punish a player for intentionally ruining others time, even if they say it's out of fun?: Yes. Give an example of a Staff abusing their powers and how you would handle it: Flying into bases or teleporting a player before they get raided by the staff member's friends. I would personally inform someone in a higher position than me unless the staff member is a lower rank than myself as I feel like I'm not in the position to decide my "equal's" fate unless the abuse is well documented and not questionable. I would of course discuss this with the staff member in question before doing anything rash in case it was a misunderstanding (which actually has happened between myself and a staff member). Depending on how grave the incident is I think a staff removal is in order as it clearly shows the person cannot respect having certain privileges over the average player. A player is excessively RDMing, how would you intervene/stop them from continuing and what punishment would you give?: Isolate the player in question, ask why and then just banning them for the appropriate time for mass rdm. Personally without looking at any standard punishment time I think 7 days or more is in order since they probably wont contribute to the server anyway, and a long ban time would discourage them from coming back. Reoffenders should just be permad on the second mrdm charge tbh. A Mayor enabled a lockdown without reason and is refusing to turn it off, how do you resolve this?: Give them an ultimatum between turning it off or being removed from mayor. Repeat offenses without listening to staff I think a warning would be in order.
