  1. On a lot of other servers there is generally a rule that Partys are able to defend each other

    On the other side of that if you are attacking some on in a party and you attack some one its reasonable to assume the others in that group will come to there party members aid and thus you are allowed to preemptively strike other party members.

     

    The only rule I see that has any standing in this situation is

    So the issue is how is it fair to allow other your fellow party members to defend you and then say Your not allowed to attack other people in a party?

     

    I am not saying what mreggman did was right or wrong, and at this point the ban should be done So this might be better severed as a Suggestion (possibly as a rule change post)

    Honestly nothing good comes if everything in life is easy, You learn more from your mistakes then you do your successes. I know it sound cliched but its true, its a part of Human nature We learn from our struggles and working to figure out those failures are what makes you a better person.

  3. Update:

     

    I have had 7 meth labs catch on fire after this post 5 of them in under 10 minutes of each other. It would seem that the function/math that triggers the random event might be broken. Oddly though only 2 out of those 7 times after the initial one that I posted above  causes any stuttering/lag

The Bug You're Experiencing: Game shuddering when Meth is being produced, I randomly started to get "Lag Spikes" where my game would freeze and sound would loop, finally after it has stopped one of my Meth "Tanks" caught on fire once the stuttering had stooped.  This is Early in the morning (7:15 am) with only 14 people on. I also tabbed over to HLSW and took a look at my ping at the time this was occurring and did not see any spikes, My ping stayed at a steady 71.

     

    I am running Gmod in 64 bit. With a AMD Ryzen 9 3900x, 24 GB of Ram & Nvida Gforce RTX 2070 Super. With all my Gmod video settings set to its lowest. So I don't believe this to be a hardware issue on my end.

    Can you reproduce the bug, if so, how?: Not exactingly. as Meth labs catching on fire is a random event.

    Examples of the bug (images, videos): None.

Think I don't understand is why is there a unlimited # of slots for Hit Man. and then I don't even know what secondary jobs count as a "Hit Man" if there is such a limited amount of hits why allow 5+ people to be Hit Man? Right now there are 5 Hit Man and 30 players on the server and the Fun fact about this is I typed !placehit and had a Hit Man come up to me asking me to place a hit.

     

    So in my opinion there is a huge imbalance for this job and no reason to have 5 Hit Man on espically late at night about 10 PM PST for me when most people are just on goofing around with builds and not really doing much of anything, and When the server is full maybe 3 or more Hit Man could be used but a unlimited number of slots for the job seems like a issue in it self.

    If this is a "RP Server" and the intent is to Role play as a Cop it would make no sense what so ever for a Police officer to make a drug bust then because of some issue they can't destroy all contraband they would just leave it there. So the flaw in the rule and the system of being able to properly destroy those items makes it hard for both staff and player to fully comply with the rules. 

     

    I personally believe that because of this the warn should be removed. I don't think its fair to have a gap in a rule (in my opinion) that gets punished some of the times because some staff view it as wrong or some staff just are not sure how to enforce it.

     

    How ever its dealt with at this point it has been fixed

  7. I agree, Staff should be able to speak with players if some one did something they "think" was wrong against them.

    In my Hubble opinion this situation could have been better handled by instead of flying out to the the player Try and msg them to let them know you are going to bring them to you to speak to them about the situation. Having a conversation in the jail shows that you are trying to understand the situation and why what you think what the player did was wrong. Now of course if the player is not going to listen/argue and get loud then its better to try and have another Staff member help.

     

    Speaking to a player about the rules (especially when they broke a rule against you) can be touch and go depending on the player. So bringing them out of a crowded chaotic situation to try and speak to them one on one Servers the Staff member better and if they Can't reason with the player then absolutely seek out help from another staff.

  8. Whats good ya'll I'm TangoDown I'm chill guy orignally from California but just moved to Oregon.

    Been playing Gmod Waaaay to long. (28032.1 as of this post) I've done a lot of different things on Gmod and have had a lot of different roles, but I enjoy building mostly (I've seen every prop in Gmod that there is) I've spent way to much time building but thats what I enjoy most figuring out ways to build traps/bases what ever to confuse the living hell out of others.

     

    And now that I've spent some time on the server and seen how chill every one is and how enjoyable it is I think I'll stick around and have some Fun..

    No the first link is a Modified version of the second. I paid some one to have modify it because I didn't like the Original menu look, and had him add the timers cvars. I linked the credits to that Developer on the Workshop it self. But I again am not trying to advertise anything so we'll just keep that hush hush.

    How will this improve the quality of Aether?: Would be a fun Swep for some such as Thief, Smuggler, Assassins, Hit Man, etc etc allowing them to change there player model

    For the first Link its a modified version of the second witch in my option has a better UI, and also a cvar that allows you to change some settings such as how long the player is frozen and how long the Disguise lasts.

     

    The second swep is a a littler more simplistic with no options and a scoreboard Looking menu vs the panel with a preview of the models you can select.

     

    On the plus side both these sweps takes No extra downloads it uses the C4 Model and who ever sets it up can define what Player models are included.

    The first one is A modified version I paid a coder to do and gave him Credits in the workshop (for a server project I worked on for some one). I by no means am suggesting this as any sort of advertisement and thus why I included the original. But regardless it would be a pretty cool addon if ether where added.

  11. Well as a new player dying twice by a Hit Man made me initially thing what a bunch of arseholes on this server i did nothing to  any one. But I wouldn't let that stop me from playing (but might scare away players) now Finding out that it is a automated thing In my mind doesn't make sense.

    To me this just bring more hypertension to the player base. Though I haven't really seen a huge amount of animosity or chaos on the server thus far The Idea is that this can set a tone for new players.

     

    And even for a seasoned player such as my self who when I come to a new server reads threw rules and other information I found it a bit odd to be killed twice in a very short amount of time.

     

    Mind you I was not and will not be upset if this isn't change but it is a conversation that might in the future change something to help newer players. And as great as the server population seems to be right now (and I hope that never changes) the ebb and flows of gmod player base is erratic. So I'm just bring this up to be considered.

  12. There defiantly needs to be a balance. One thing I didn't consider in my post was the banker Printer storage aspect of it making limiting props in the lobby not such a great idea. But even with that either changing the raid time to give more time to get in or limiting the number of keypads would be a improvement. I think the simplest solution is to just give more time. Even with more time they will still have to defeat cops/security So giving more time doesn't make it that much easier in my opinion.
