  1. It’s a tough thing to balance. When you nerf afkable ways of making money you indirectly make it so less people can leave their base. If the afk money jobs are weak and they have to attend to something if they want money, they can’t leave their base. That means a LOT less player interaction and more of people never coming out of their base.

  2. Considering you’ve taken all of my advice and have been very active and made a name for yourself,

    I’ll change my feedback from a -1 to a +1

in the span of the app being up, he’s taken my feedback along with others and I haven’t had any problems with him and don’t believe other staff have either.

don’t see why you wouldn’t be given a shot now that people know who you are

  3. I’m gonna be biased and +1

Goldfishie isn’t like the others, he’s the most wholesome minge ret/aether has ever seen.

On the other hand, he’s been DMing me on discord trying to find where I live so he can come rape me... so I’m a bit conflicted

Sadly, that isn't true. Rule 10 only states that "Raiders must be able to shoot back at you from wherever you shoot them from (No feet shooters).
    image.png.9bcf85b0846e91af875540619607bb30.png
This doesn't mean that raiders have to be able to see back, only to shoot back. The shoot back part is referring to feet shooters, where the raiders are completely unable too shoot back, such as in this scenario.

The feet shooter was an example but what I got from it is that jouaram was implying being able to shoot back as also seeing them when they shoot you. If they’re shooting through a one way that doesn’t really qualify as able to shoot back at them. You can shoot through it, but not at them considering you can’t see them.

It should be looked in to but the feet shooting was an example. If you can’t see someone while they’re shooting you, I classify that as unable to shoot back at them.

  5. For the first suggestion you made, I’m not sure if you’re aware but shooting through one ways without them being open is against the rules anyways

theres a rule that states where if you shoot someone who is raiding, they have to be able to see you and shoot back while you shoot at them

maybe instead of blocking these props we just make them how the fences are where you can’t materialize them. Then they’ll just act like fence props just in a different model

you have 8 warns in 3 days.

if that wasn’t enough, you also were bragging about all of your bans on discord.

the idea of a ban is to learn from your mistakes and be better in the future. With how problematic you were for our staff team, the ban was supposed to be an eye opener for you but you don’t seem to care at all.

you continued minging on discord and bragging about all of your bans that you have.

that’s not someone who deserves their ban to be appealed in my opinion. In fact I would support an extended ban for you to 1 week.

also If what you said was true and night handled your sit poorly, the mature, right way, to go about it would be making a complaint or telling someone. Not breaking rules because you’re pissed off about it then complaining when you deal with the consequences of your actions.

Absolutely, context is key to everything- especially in circumstances or instances such as that were described. There should absolutely, without a doubt in my mind be a restriction of using racial slurs of any kind against another player regardless of the situation and circumstances surrounding something such as that. However- if the rules prohibit the direct use of racial terms, slurs, and implications, what makes using the Soft-A any different than using the Hard-R? If we allow one racial slur to be allowed, what makes the other ones any worse to use? There needs to be a set definition as to what crosses the line, and I personally believe that any racial slur directed- or not at someone, should be prohibited. With the current bias towards certain softer slurs on the server, people have taken advantage of this (incidents like these prompted me to suggest this) loop-hole to directly attack other players, or just spam it because they know there'll be no repercussions from doing so.

To answer your question, the “softer slurs” are treated differently because like I said you gotta keep in mind that a lot of times those words are how people talk normally, both irl and/or in-game. So dictating that we need to change other people’s languages and habits if they wanna play with us is a very difficult ideology to enforce or run with. Like I said before, people don’t realize that they’re saying it oftentimes because it’s just nature to them, it’s how they talk.

I just personally don’t agree with forcing people to change what is normal to them if they wanna play on our server.

And like I said, context is important. If they’re using the slur in a sense of name calling or such, that is different

These are just a few cherry-picked examples of the targeted messages towards me

I see, those definitely warrant a talk with the players and a verbal warning about harassment. Meaning if they continue to harass after being verbally warned, they’ll be punished harshly.
Unless the higher ups decide something different, up to them.

what I said above still could have easily been done in game though with one of the staff members online

  9. My take on this,

it seems like it was a heated discussion in general that should have been handled by staff. The staff online are supposed to deescalate these situations and get it out of OOC.

For the players themselves, nothing from that evidence was said or done that was TOO bad, at most I think it would only warrant a verbal warning and just having them be talked to about it in-game.

this seems like something that could have been handled in game pretty easily and in your screenshots it showed multiple staff members online taking sits so I’m a bit confused, unless I’m missing something.

im also not understanding where you’re claiming the targeted harassment is. I can understand from what you showed a little bit of toxicity, but it doesn’t seem to me to be harassment towards anyone

  10. We went back and forth on this rule on ret because a small group of people complained about people being able to say the n word with the A, but majority of the player base weren’t offended at all and it became kind of problematic. Restricting people’s speech is hard to enforce, and very infuriating for players. For some people, that’s just how they talk, they don’t even realize they’re saying it. So to go and punish them every time they do it when they say it out of habit and no one normally gets offended anyways, seems a bit unnecessary.

HOWEVER provocative words or terms are important in terms of context. If people are saying them in normal speech not really directed towards anyone, that is vastly different than someone using it to be provocative or as harassment towards certain people.

it’s kind of hard to clarify a rule for these considering context is important with what you brought up. Maybe a rule saying that a certain group of words may be punishable as hate speech if used in a provocative or targeted way.

You've written a well thought out application with thought put into a lot of the longer answer questions, very nice.

From my experiences with you on the server you seem like a nice fellow who simply wants to help out.

You've got a good grasp on the rules.

    Also,

Does this minor mistake completely devalue the well thought out app that he created? I see no reason why him overlooking a format on the forums would translate into not being able to properly assist players in-game, and we all make simple mistakes like this all the time. This seems like a petty reason to completely get rid of all hope of him being a good staff member.

    Anyways,

    Good luck on your application!

No it doesn’t overlook it but a good app isn’t all it takes to become staff. Anyone who is fit for helping others and having the maturity to handle power deserves a shot. I believe he fits every criteria apart from the knowledge such as forum formats which will come with experience from playing the server.

if he doesn’t know about forum formats how will he be able to assist someone with using the forums? That’s what I’m getting at.

I think he should take more time and familiarize himself with the different functionalities we use in game, on the forums, and on discord.

I'm sorry, I also go by JackGoff (I changed my name for this application since it's a childish-name) thank you for the critique though!

I was a higher-up with the name “Dildozer” ur good man. Changing ur name for an app isn’t great because no ones gonna know who you are.

edit: just noticed my names still dildozer on here lol I’ve changed it to Blue Panther in-game and discord just for context

    +Great application

+Appears to be mature and friendly

-the name Jack Goff does ring a bell but I don’t know you or anything about you. Maybe it’s lack of activity or just what you do while in-game. I’ve seen the name on the server before but never met you.

I think if you wait a bit and become more well known in the community you’ll easily get accepted.

(this can be done in game, on forums, or on discord)

I see absolutely no reason why they wouldn't drop the meth on death. Them not dropping it makes the already low risk job even less of a risk and should be balanced.

This would basically make meth heads obsolete, since they otherwise have few advantages over cigarette smugglers.

The advantage is less work. It is afkable for 10 minutes at a time. Cigarette smuggler is a lot more hands on.

The idea is less work for slightly less money.
