This is a clear "I don't like you, I'm going to report you" report.

Regardless of how someone feels towards another player, his concern is completely justified. We should not discourage people from reporting staff/players for completely feasible reasons just because we don't understand or agree with them. It's clear that the reported players understand how they could have handled this situation a bit better, and I believe this report will help them make better decisions in the future (or, at the very least, be a bit more considerate of the people around them).

As someone who struggles with migraines, I don't think it's right to mock the guy for having a headache because of loud music. If someone doesn't want something to happen in their vicinity, especially if that something is against the rules, then they are fully correct in submitting a report.

To reiterate what should already be clear: I don't think Danny or GTA V were trying to be assholes or ruin his experience. I think that they're pretty new moderators and still have stuff to learn, and this is just apart of that learning journey. Sitting here and poking at the guy for his possible and, imo, unrelated motives for this report is immature and should not be happening.

moderators should be one atleast be on sometime every day. I stand by this fully. Like I said in the message people can have breaks or miss a few days, but you and your fellow mods signed up for this job.

I don't agree at all. It's easy to say that moderators/staff in general should be on at least once a day for a little while if you're younger, which in this case you are. The reality is that people can't always get on every day or even every other day, and that is fine. Expecting people to get on once a day is too demanding as a gmod server and will only serve to push those people out of their staffing positions. They are also far more likely to get burnt out if they do play that frequently, which will inevitably end up in resignations or time off from the server - something that I'm sure someone like you wouldn't appreciate.

You need to have patience with other people and realize that just because they're not always going to be able to get on right when you need them, doesn't mean they don't care. They do what they can when they can and within reason. That means that, even if they ARE otherwise available to get on, that doesn't mean they should be expected or forced to do so. This also ties into my next point, which is this isn't a job. Nobody is getting paid for this, which for some people, means it automatically takes a back seat to their education and employment irl. You really should put that into perspective when you say the things you do and give criticism how you do.

Finally, you should probably stop writing a paragraph response to every -1 or -/+. I get you want to clarify stuff to people who may have misunderstood, but at this point in the application, it's simply coming off as "Unclear can't take criticism or feedback very well". You're young, and as such you have a bit of learning to do for this role. If you can improve on everything people are saying to you in this application instead of refuting and writing it off, you'll do far better in the long run.

  3. I really dislike how you A. phrased your report and B. cut this clip. It's disingenuous to say he's trying to bribe you, pay you off, or make you "forget"/not report him. How else would you like him to make up for the mistake of forgetting god mode besides reimbursement? I am confident that if you didn't cut that clip so close to him paying y'all, it would tell a much different story than the one you're trying to tell right now.

This report, while probably valid on account of the mistake made by Uranus, is in bad faith and, to be frank, shitty. I don't have much more to add than that.

if people see a staff member doing these things they will mimic them and use the excuse of "well i saw staff doing it so why cant i".

I don't disagree that he should not have done it and may have set a poor example for others, but he was literally punished for this already by the appropriate person. To punish him again wouldn't be appropriate. I would understand if this report was against GoldFishie for suspected (at best) misconduct or bias or what have you, but it's against Oogla for something that was literally already resolved. He should not be punished twice for that. I'm not sure where this point is getting lost in the discussion.

Thats kinda the point of one? What do you mean? If there is a staff who is doing something on the server that shouldnt happen. and dropping peoples frames why would you not report that?

Why would you report a resolved situation? You’re acting like you had no idea this was already addressed by GoldFishie, even though you’re admitting that you are only reporting because you wanted to follow up since you suspected GoldFishie was “covering” for him. That’s a really weak report reason, and once again, it makes you look not great. Even if your interests were pure or whatevs, it just seems really petty. Might be good to reevaluate here son

Like I said. I still saw it and reported it. I don't know if you were just gonna cover for your boy or not.

Literally what do u think reports are? An opportunity for a staff exposé? If you’re concerned about misconduct or corruption a public report will do you less good than inquiring with GoldFishie’s superior(s). This just comes off as obnoxious and makes you seem like an untrustworthy and unreasonable person with an itchy report finger.

I wouldn’t recommend that sort of reputation but it’s a free country.

  7. I've never played in-game with you since I don't play on the server, but I was pleasantly surprised to open this thread and see how much effort you crammed into this application. Also, your display name is literally hilarious with your picture.

I'm comfortable with +1ing for your effort and the small interactions I've seen from you in Discord.

Also Scottish people are superior in every way

  8. Sounds like you believe there’s an issue with people not giving good feedback, in which case a poll where the feedback is completely gone won’t help that. People can give neutral feedback and detail their reasons why they’re neutral; they usually do. Removing the ability to explain their reason won’t help the applicant whatsoever. If you wanted to fix the, imo, non-issue of people not giving feedback on their ratings, then there are better ways to fix that than this way.

  9. I’m inclined to -1 this because leading up to your ban you were incredibly toxic and were known to pick fights with others, however I wasn’t paying 100% attention to the discord 1 month ago so I don’t know if you stopped being that way. Other than that, this appeal has very little effort in it, and I believe you should be putting plenty of effort into stating why you should be unbanned since you were crashing people’s discord. I find it hard to believe you truly think what you did is wrong because it was wrong and not only because you were banned for it.

  10. i’ve never had to do what you do to the extent you’re doing it so i won’t pretend i know what you’re going through, but i know how you feel and i’ve been in a position where money is all that mattered & i had to drop everything to pay the bills. it’s hard on you. i hope you reach the place where you aren’t constantly pushing yourself too hard soon. people who talk shit on you for not being here are coming from a place of ignorance and privilege. best of luck dude

I'm aware and understand the frustration that many members of the community feel and we are working on it. Everyone is free to discuss this topic amongst themselves here but Jouaram and I are aware. No need to continue to mention this to us.

-1 gibs does this shit constantly and crashed the server because of it, difference it, noodles is a good staff member

Just because someone does something constantly doesn't mean that it's suddenly okay if a staff member does it. It also doesn't mean that a staff member is suddenly dogshit (not your words, just exaggerating) because they mess up or break a rule. That being said, this report is not indicative of anyone being good or bad, staff member or otherwise - simply a staff member doing something that needs to be addressed by a higher up. Treating reports like a popularity or goodness contest is like the worst possible thing to do.

I don't need to +1 because there's clear cut evidence and also it doesn't matter if I do anyway but it seems like Noodles is owning up to it and is being pretty level-headed about it, which imo is a good sign in staff. I would hope this doesn't result in a demotion for him because he seems like a solid pick for staff, but I don't think it would result in a demotion.
