+/- I can see why it was changed cause if you have more than like 3 fences without wireframe it can be damn near impossible to see through. However if it can be managed in a way that doesn't obstruct visibility on either end I don't really see a problem. I like this idea, but instead of "visibility should be near equal for the raider position as well as a defender position of the prop." Should say: "visibility must not be affected when using your chosen material." As the visibility from pc to pc can vary & what some person may be able to see through the other player cannot.

I don't see any issue with allowing certain other materials, the issue really becomes how to present the rule where players aren't required to read a list of what's allowed but it also be understandable while making sure people aren't finding ways to abuse it. One very common occurrence with the previous rules was that people would argue what "visibility" was, and try to get away with a setup where the raiders would barely be able to see in but the defenders could see the raiders with little to no issue. I can definitely see why Jouaram went with this approach as it really simplifies the rule with little room for abuse. +1 to allowing other materials. As for how the rule could be written, my suggestion is something along the lines of "Materials of fences or props that allow bullets to pass must allow fair visibility through the prop; visibility should be near equal for the raider position as well as a defender position of the prop."

People will always still use wire, this is just so we have a bit more options to work with. not all the moving textures are good as shown in my video, but I think having a bit more diversity would just be a little Chefs kiss for the builders of Aether. -
I like the chosen wireframe texture for its simplicity and I can see people continuing to use it after this (maybe) goes through. While I like some of the static textures I cant say I love the moving ones. I think this rule is really in place to simplify the rules regarding fences, adding a few more options is definitely something id like to see implemented. +/- for this one so far until maybe we can get a community vote on which textures should be allowed for use on fences

Restart fixed the issue, if it happens again a simple restart of the server I think will fix the issue, this thread can be closed. Thank you. 🙂
