(e.g. Weekdays 5–9PM): Fridays to tuesdays 1 pm - 1 am Steam Profile Link: Steam Community :: hit my pants Why do you want to be Staff?: The reason i wanna be staff is because i genuinely feel passionate about this server, in just 2 days of playing it ignited that flame of fun i haven't had in atleast 6 years of gmod, i already had staff experience over 1k hour of it in a pretty big Prison Rp server (Digital Delta Gaming Prison RP) so i figured i'd help this server that i really am loving right now by lending some of my years of staffing to it! I wanna genuinely help with said staffing skills to make this server an approachable, friendly and fun experience for new people that join, teach new players to dark rp the ropes, take sits in a quick and reliable manner, help players with problems they might have, respond to questions, just try to be that staff member that's atleast there and is approachable for any trouble you might be having, for the people that have interacted with me you've noticed i tend to be kinda unserious and a little silly at times, and yeah that is me, but i can assure you when it comes to dealing with situations like sits, reports, etc, i can assure all of you that i take it as seriously, and make sure that they are dealt with accordingly, i  already have experience with most of the jobs on the server as they were part of our old server, and know pretty much all of the rules for dark rp from memory. How do you believe you can make Aether's environment better?:  I would start by helping new players get accostumed to the server, one of the most important things i learnt from all my time being staff on our old server, was making sure new players felt welcome and had a human experience, a lot of people enter rp servers not knowing what to do, and due to the already toxic conotation dark rp has for itself they don't feel welcome, or are afraid to ask how basic things work in the game, they struggle to find someone they connect with, which is why i would believe i would try to make aether a more new player friendly enviroment, by actively seeking new players and giving them that push so they start doing stuff on their own, while they get to know the community better. Have you read the rules fully, understand and feel comfortable enforcing them as correctly as possible?:  I do. Space for any extra comments you might have (feel free to speak your mind): When i first started playing on the server around some days ago, i didn't expect much, honestly it's been around 5 years since i've played a gmod dark rp server, and really got into it, i used to be an admin for 3 years on that server, so i just came maybe to get some nostalgia for like around an hour maybe and leave, what i didn't expect was to completely fall in love again with dark rp by entering this server, i've been hooked to this server for the past 2 days, playing exclusively nothing but it, i found what i felt was missing from dark rp eversince the old server i used to staff on shut down, everything from how engaging the roleplay experience is,  to how friendly and fun the community is, seemingly not super big it is, a place where everyone knows eachother and there isn't unnecesary dramas or toxicity, i've adored doing little games with the people i've met so far as a hobo, joking with em, and just honestly having a great time, trying out the different jobs, etc, with all that said, even if i make it as a staff on this application or not, i'll still play on the server and keep supporting it as much as i can!   Rule Questionnaire  Give one example of RDM: Someone is walking minding their own business and they get killed outta nowhere, that is RDM (Random Death Match) Give one example of NLR:   Someone instantly returns to raiding a base, right after being killed not waiting the 3 minute mark for NLR (New Life Rule) to be over What sign would a player place on their base to avoid being raided whilst having no raidables?: As long as they got no raidables they can place a sign that states it is JUST A BUILDING, for example a huge sign that says BUILDING on one of the sides If you get RDM'd are you allowed to kill the RDMer back?: No you're not that's still RDM, make a sit about it Give an example of a Staff abusing their powers: Using their powers to give themselves and advantage like more money, more health, armor, etc and also ignore rules just because they're staff

I'm fine with it since there is no 3rd party apps being used and if you are doing this you either were gonna be AFK or not on the server at all anyways.

the timing for this is incredibly awkward/unlucky! config editing for lower spec PCs is nothing unique to GMod. at a certain point, the lower level arguments being added do look a little sketchy, and in multiplayer games the line is blurred since other players are not going to go through the same hoops for the benefits. that being said, the arguments provided in allow's post are available to all users who own a copy of GMod, no external software is being used to gain an advantage over other users. I've had to edit configs for other games in the past due to having nearly unplayable framerates, and I could certainly see this method being of use when a player wants to farm AB passively while doing other things on their PC. again, the timing of this post is spectacularly unlucky given the recent server changes, but on any day prior I think this would be a well received method to save resources on lower spec PCs, while still staying on the server (which incentives AFKing) clearly allow does not intend for this post to provide any unfair advantage by providing it in open detail to the community, and consulting the owner directly with the method.
