When I First Staffed On Aether Networks (Around 2020), I Was Reckless In My Own Actions, And I Would Never Own Up To Any Of My Actions, Which Eventually Cause To Spiral Down The Rabbit Hole, Which Eventually Resulted In Me Getting Removed From The Staff Team. I Am Telling You This Because I Believe In Being Truthful And Clear To You Guys So You Understand Some Of My History In Aether, And To Bring Out Some Things I Never Felt I Was Able To Properly Express. (Failure To Properly Advert A Raid A Head Of Time Is Considered Fail Raiding.) If a player in your party dies whilst raiding, how long do they have to wait to come back and raid the same base again?: Following NLR Rules, They Will Need to Wait 3 Minutes. During That Time, The Player Can Not Assist In A Raid Or Defend In Any Way. What initiates a raid?: Raids Are Initiated When A Raider Adverts In ALL Chat "/Advert Raid". Other Forms Of Raid Adverts Can Be Accepted As Long As They Are Not Deceiving. Ok Example: "/Advert RAID OMG!!!!" Bad Example: "/ooc Raid" Once A Raid Has Concluded, The Player Must "/Advert Over" To Let The Defenders Know. Adverting Over Is a Must No Mater The Circumstances. After You Have Finished A Raid, You Can Not Re-Raid The Same Base Within A 30 Minute Time Period. If no raiding tool is being used can the player steal the item from a base without an advert?: You Do not Have To Advert Raid ONLY IF The Raidables Are Easily Accessible Without Using Raiding Tools. Good Example: Raidable Such As A Printer Laying On The Curb W/O Protection Allows You To Raid That Item Without Breaking The Rules. Bad Example: You Find a Radiable Inside Another Players Base, But You See A Gap In One Of Their Builds, So You Choose To Use A TP Sweep To Get Inside. Using Any Means Of Transport To Either Glitch Inside Bases (You Do Not Have To Be Raiding) Is Breaking The Rules, Even Though You Adverted Raid) Give an example of a valid raid advert (type it as you'd type it in-game): (/Advert Raid) (/Advert BANK RAID!) (/Advert PD RAID!) If the owner of the base is standing outside on their base entrances sidewalk as you're about to raid but haven't announced a raid yet, can you kill them?: No, Under This Condition, You Must Advert Raid Before Starting Any Combat, Failure To Do So Can Be Considered Fail Raiding and/or RDM. If you get arrested mid-raid can you return after your arrest?: No, You Can Not Return To Restart a Raid Once You Have Been Arrested. This Falls Under The Raid Cool Down Rule, You Must Wait The Raid Cooldown Before Consecutively Raiding A Base. Upon Being Arrested The Player Must Advert "Over" As this Concludes The Raid, And Ensures No Further Problems Come Up. If you get RDM'd are you allowed to kill the RDMer back without repercussions?: Revenge RDM Is Not Allowed, The Only Thing That Achieves Is further Aggression. If You Do Decide To Revenge RDM, That Opens The Window For Them To Call A Sit On You Which Probably Isn't What You Want. If You Do Get RDM'd Without Any Plausible Reasons, The First Step Of Action Is to Contact A Higher Up, In Other Words, Call a Sit. A player punches somebody unprovoked and runs away, the player who got punched calls a sit - what punishment would you give the instigator?: Said Punishment Will Be "RDM" Even Though They Did Not Have The Intent To RDM. However In Cases Where It Was Demmed To Be 100% Crossfire, The Punishment May Be Reduced To A No Warning Or Written Warning Informing Them To Be More Careful Nextime List all default Laws of The Land: Raiding and stealing is illegal. Raidables detected by the contraband scanner are always illegal. Harming players is illegal unless you are inside your base defending it. Laws can be enforced with KOS if the player is wanted. How many bases can you own per party?: A Party Can Own Two Bases, One Raidable and One RP ONLY. A player is refusing to co-operate with you in a staff sit, how do you handle the non-cooperative player?: Advise Them, That If They Continue To Be Uncooperative During A Sit, The Possibility Of Punishment. However If This Does Not Deter Them, And For Example They Continue to Deflect Attempts Of Info Gathering (Mic Spam, Rude Remarks, Ignoring Questions, Etc...) I Believe This Gives Staff Proper Reasons To Carry Out A Punishment, Depending Of The Severity Of The situation. If Things Begin To Get To Hasty, (slurs, mic spam continues, etccc...) It's My Job To Access Which In This Case Is To Gag And Mute Them To Prevent Future Distractions, Before continuing My Sit. Can you punish a player for intentionally ruining others time, even if they say it's out of fun?: Yes, Absolutely, However It May Be Acceptable If Both Party's Don't See It As Time Wasted, And They Don't See It As A Issue. In Cases Where It Sometimes Does Become An Issue, Is When A Player Is Intentionally Calling Staff Sits With The Intention To Cause Trouble/Mayhem, And Get Staff Attention When They Do Not Need It. For This Instance Staff Is Able Punish The Player, For "Wasting Staff Time" Give an example of a Staff abusing their powers and how you would handle it: Example: Reckless Throwing Out Warning/Bans Just Because Their Ego Is Fragile. Example: Noclipping As A Means Of Travel. Example: Accepting And Closing Sits Instantly. Example: Not Accepting Responsibility For Something Related To Them. Example Using Staff Rank To Intimidate/Threaten Others. Course Of Action: Understand What The Staff Member Is Abusing. Confront Them Directly And Tell Them That Their Actions Are Violating Staff Rules. I Believe This Is The Most Important Step Because In Many Of The Staff Related Abuse Cases, They Were Unaware Their Actions Were Breaking The Rules. It Is Better To Let Them Know First And Give Them The Chance To Correct Themselves, However It Is Still Important To Inform Higher Ups Regarding The Situation. It Is Always Important To Let Higher Ups Of The Situation, Especially If A Staff Member Is Abusing Their Power. If The Staff Member Continues To Abuse Their Power, I Believe It Needs To Be Reported To A Higherup Who Has The Power To Correct The Player. It Is Staffs Duty To Watch Out and Keep Other Fellow Staff Members In Check. A player is excessively RDMing, how would you intervene/stop them from continuing and what punishment would you give?: Spectate Them First To Confirm If They Are Indeed MRDM'ing. Freeze Them And Teleport Them Into Admin Land (Or A Place Safe From Player Interference (Admin Land Recommended), During This Time, Sits Called Relating To This Rdmer Will Be Taken To Get Information From The Players. If The Rdmer Is Refusing To Corporate With Staff, I Will Recall The Previous Rule About "A player is refusing to co-operate with you in a staff sit, how do you handle the non-cooperative player" And Take Necessary Action. If Needed, A Punishment Will Be Given To The Player Depending On The Severity, And Possible Warning History. If The Player Leaves During A Sit, Given That They Could Possibly Leave To Avoid Punishment, Or So they Think. It Gives Me The Right To Give A LTAP Warning To That User Along With His RDM Warn. Given The Unlikely Circumstance That A Player In A Sit Crashes Or Has Bad Internet, I First Step For This Is To Contact A Higher Up For Instruction On How Do Deal With It. A Mayor enabled a lockdown without reason and is refusing to turn it off, how do you resolve this?: A Mayor Needs A Proper Non-Rule Breaking Reason To Call A Lockdown. If They Fail To Inform Others About An Lockdown. I Would Need An Explanation From The Mayor As To Their Reason Behind The Lockdown. If They Are Cooperative With Me In Resolving The Issue, I Believe No Further Course Of Action Needs To Be Taken. However If They Are Refusing To Corporate With Me Trying Understand their Reason Behind The Lockdown, Then Once Again I Will Go Back To The "A player is refusing to co-operate with you in a staff sit" Rule And Follow the Necessary Steps Of Action. In This Situation, The Best Step (If The Player Does Not Have Any Prior Warning About This Issue) Is To Give Them A Written Warning, Informing Them If They Continue to Neglect The Rules Again, The Next Punishment Won't Be as Lenient.
