General Questions

  • How can you contribute to Aether?: I genuinely really enjoy playing on Aether and meeting new players. My experience so far has been nothing but positive. I have many years experience working in customer service and I know how to deal with and mediate difficult/tricky situations.
  • Have you read the rules fully, understand and feel comfortable enforcing them as correctly as possible?: Yes. I am able to maintain both a mature and level-headed attitude whilst respectfully enforcing the servers rules.
  • Are you willing to listen to any Staff member guide you as a Staff, even if you feel you don't need to?: I am more than happy to be guided and to listen to any and all constructive criticism.
  • Are you certain you will be able to staff for several hours a week?: Yes.

DarkRP Rule Questions

  • Raids can last how long?: From the moment it is averted, there is 10 minutes to complete the raid.
  • If a player in your party dies whilst raiding, how long do they have to wait to come back and raid the same base again?: There is a 20 minute raid timer that starts from the moment of death and even if your party is still raiding, you cannot return. You must wait for the 20 minutes to pass and begin a new raid.
  • What initiates a raid?: A raid is initiated when a player adverts “Raid” in chat.
  • If no raiding tool is being used can the player steal the item from a base without an advert?: If your job allows you to steal and you do not require a raid tool, yes, you are able to steal without advertising.
  • Give an example of a valid raid advert (type it as you'd type it in-game): “/advert Raid” “/advert PD Raid” “/advert Hit Raid”
  • If the owner of the base is standing outside on their base entrances sidewalk as you're about to raid but haven't announced a raid yet, can you kill them?: No, you cannot kill the player until you have adverted "Raid" in chat.
  • If you get arrested mid-raid can you return after your arrest?: You are able to return once the arrest timer has ended.
  • If you get RDM'd are you allowed to kill the RDMer back without repercussions?: Killing the person who RDMed you is considered revenge RDM and it is not allowed. When RDMed, the player can type "@admin" in chat to create a ticket and an admin will assist them.
  • A player punches somebody unprovoked and runs away, the player who got punched calls a sit - what punishment would you give the instigator?: Without a valid reason, damaging or killing another player is RDM/Attempted RDM and is to be dealt with as so.
  • List all default Laws of The Land: Raiding is illegal. Money printers, drugs and explosives are illegal. Bitcoin racks are illegal (not including small versions). Harming other players is illegal unless you are defending your base. Life threats are illegal. Having a gun license automatically makes all the weapons on the user legal whilst holstered. Kidnapping, theft and harming another player are illegal. Using dangerous weapons in public is illegal. Laws must be enforced with AOS instead of KOS unless the Police Officer's life is in danger or the player is wanted. Non-default Laws must be things that players have to go out of their way to do. Laws that are seen as baiting kills or arrests are disallowed. How many bases can you own per party?: 1 base.
  • How many bases can you own per party?: A maximum of 1 base can be owned per party.
  • A player is refusing to co-operate with you in a staff sit, how do you handle the non-cooperative player?: Firstly, I’d freeze the player and then I’d attempt to de-escalate the situation, allowing them a chance to voice their side of the story, administering the correct punishment once done. If this doesn’t work and they decide to continue not cooperating, I would mute/gag the player, list the rules they are breaking and the punishments that follow.
  • Can you punish a player for intentionally ruining others time, even if they say it's out of fun?: If the player in question has broken any of the server rules, then yes. Examples of breaking the server rules could include a player spamming their microphone around particular players just to annoy them.
  • Give an example of a Staff abusing their powers and how you would handle it: An example of a staff abusing their powers would be no clipping into a base during a raid. I would use a clipping software to provide evidence of the situation and then report to a higher ranking staff member.
  • A player is excessively RDMing, how would you intervene/stop them from continuing and what punishment would you give?Well, excessive RDM falls under Mass RDM and should be dealt with as so. I would first freeze the player, move them to an isolated area and ask why they are RDMing. I would then check their previous warnings and determine the punishment.
  • A Mayor enabled a lockdown without reason and is refusing to turn it off, how do you resolve this?: If the Mayor did not have a legitimate reason for the lockdown, I would pull them aside, allow them a chance to voice their situation and then issue a warning.

This is correct except there is no "Attempted RDM" Death does not have to occur for it to be a "Random Death Match"

There are situations where Players don't have to necessarily break a "Server Rule" to harass some one. They could go around telling other people to do things to said player. We've had cases where a player was doing just that Going around talking bad about a player and telling them to Kill said player But not directly harass the player.

Conclusion

Over all your app is very well done with 1 minor formatting issue and The Second quote being some what Inarticulate but over all I think You will do well and would like to see you get a chance.

Met you tonight and you seem like a great person. Respectful and kind, the kind of person you want in a leadership position. I think giving a chance here could pay off greatly.

Thank you so much! It was nice to meet you and I hope to see you on the server more 😁
